Giving thanks

Today our foster mom said "Thanksgiving is coming, Rocky and Normie! It's time to think of all the things you're thankful for." I must have looked at her funny, because she continued, "Think of how your life used to be and how it is now."

Wow. Rocky and I thought and thought, and came up with all the things we're thankful for...

  • The nice hooman who made the other hoomans stop throwing rocks at us
  • The nice lady hoomans who took us for rides
  • The nice vets who gave us treats that made us feel a little better even though they couldn't nootie us yet (whatever that is)
  • Our foster mom and dad who love us even though we look unlovable and pet us when no one else wanted to touch us
  • Warm baths
  • Healing skin
  • A dry place to sleep
  • Food and water
  • Walks with our foster mom and dad
  • All the hoomans who keep telling us they're going to find us nice homes and famblies of our own to love
  • Rocky is thankful for his red bandana, because he says it makes him look special. I'm thankful he's the one that wears it because I think it looks silly
  • Each other. I couldn't have made it without my silly brother Rocky who always had hope. And he couldn't have made it without me because I gave him a reason to keep living. We aren't special, but we're brothers.
  • All the hoomans who realized that our bodies may be in bad shape but our spirits are strong
  • Knowing that we are expected to make a full recovery so we can have a happy life
  • Hope

We hope you remember to be thankful for all the good in your lives, too. And please, say a little prayer for Rocky and me to get better and be sweet boys so we can have our good homes and famblies soon.

Love, Normie
